I am an anthropologist, educator, and PhD fellow at the Graduate School of Asian and African Area Studies (ASAFAS), Kyoto University. I am pursuing a career in academia and my research interest is in ethnicity, ethnic identity, Borneo studies, Dusun studies, social class, and food anthropology. Additionally, I am a freelance writer, business development manager and English-language educator. I come with vast experience from numerous industries such as advertising, digital marketing, copywriting, politics, and qualitative research. I am also a certified trainer in two areas: peacebuilding and development certified under UNESCO and gender dialogue certified under UN Women.

I have used The Reasonable Writer as a brand and have almost 10 years of industry experience in copywriting. I have worked with both big and small companies and always offered a high standard in writing. My full writing portfolio is found on the top right toggle!
In my selected writing section, I write to offer my perspectives on topics that matter to me the most. Alan Moore wrote, “don’t leave home without your sword – your intellect”. Whether in the fields of politics, identity or what have you, I aim to bring my swords of words that will slice through the confines of ordinary thought and transcend the boundaries that otherwise shackle us to a social imaginary that is anything but simplistic. I’d like to write about a lot of things. But mostly, things that we don’t ordinarily have in line with our normal logic. There is no limit to the ways in which the world can be interpreted.
